In order to discover the essence of her poems, it is necessary to throw some light on them. In this study, I analyse poems that contain the word ayamegusa. Ayamegusa (Shobu) is a sweet flag and was used in the poems as representative of the May 5 festival. This study shows that Izumi Shikibu captured the occasion through unique emotions and linguistic expression using everyday things like Ayamegusa (Shobu).},
