Furthermore, how the physical act of writing has a functional equivalence with utterance will be examined. Bleak House is one of crucial works of Dickens that account orality and literacy. Dickens has shown his anxiety for the domination of literacy in the Victorian popular culture through the earlier novels. His representations of oral materials, sounds and voices offer a satire on the contemporary belief on the reliability of scientific statements and business documents, which the world of Bleak House are disorderly filled with. At the same time, the physical act of writing accompanies the act of oral transmission, in which the sounds of spoken words are conveyed by using vocal cords.","subitem_description_type":"Other"},{"subitem_description":"This paper will illustrate how oral popular culture, orality, and writing are involved in the novel. First, it shall elucidate the migration of oral materials into each scene of the novel; next, an analysis of sounds, which are heard through performances, noises, and voices, will be made. Finally, it will be observed how Dickens describes the act of writing, which transmits the word residing in the living body as well as the word in oral communication.","subitem_description_type":"Other"},{"subitem_description":"本研究は、19世紀の代表的な作家であるディケンズの『荒涼館』において、当時は多くの人々に楽しまれていた物語を声に出して読み、聞く口承文化(オラリティ)と、大衆に広まることで口承文化に代わって優勢になっていく書きことばの文化(リテラシ)が、どのように現れているのかを分析する。","subitem_description_type":"Other"},{"subitem_description":"書きことばによる文字は、それが示す意味以外の意味を認めない性質上、作家によって創られた個人のアイデンティティを規定する。この性質を持つ書きことばが浸透していく社会への不安感を、ディケンズは作品を通して表している。『荒涼館』では、口承で伝わるバラッドや伝説、無秩序で猥雑に描かれる人々の声や音が、表面的に論理と秩序を保とうとする書きことばに溢れた社会への批判として描かれる。","subitem_description_type":"Other"},{"subitem_description":"一方で、19世紀はすでに書きことばの文化が大衆文化の様々な媒体にまで浸透し、ディケンズ自身が書くことを生業としていた。ディケンズの不安は、書かれたテクストが書き手から分断され、その結果登場人物のアイデンティティを固定してしまうという作家としてのジレンマに起因する。この不安に対し、『荒涼館』ではオラリティとは別に、身体的な動きの現れとしての書く行為(ライティング)が描かれる。身体的な行為は、話し手との繋がりを保もつ話しことばと同じような機能をライティングでも持つということを作品を通して論証する。","subitem_description_type":"Other"}]},"item_10002_publisher_8":{"attribute_name":"出版者","attribute_value_mlt":[{"subitem_publisher":"東京女子大学論集編集委員会"}]},"item_10002_source_id_11":{"attribute_name":"NCID","attribute_value_mlt":[{"subitem_source_identifier":"AN00161550","subitem_source_identifier_type":"NCID"}]},"item_10002_source_id_9":{"attribute_name":"ISSN","attribute_value_mlt":[{"subitem_source_identifier":"04934350","subitem_source_identifier_type":"ISSN"}]},"item_10002_text_25":{"attribute_name":"著者名ヨミ","attribute_value_mlt":[{"subitem_text_value":"ナカツマ, ユイ"}]},"item_10002_text_26":{"attribute_name":"ファイル形式","attribute_value_mlt":[{"subitem_text_value":"application/pdf"}]},"item_10002_text_4":{"attribute_name":"著者名(別表記)","attribute_value_mlt":[{"subitem_text_value":"NAKATSUMA, Yui"}]},"item_10002_text_6":{"attribute_name":"コンテンツの種類","attribute_value_mlt":[{"subitem_text_value":"紀要論文"}]},"item_creator":{"attribute_name":"著者","attribute_type":"creator","attribute_value_mlt":[{"creatorNames":[{"creatorName":"中妻, 結"}],"nameIdentifiers":[{"nameIdentifier":"12142","nameIdentifierScheme":"WEKO"}]}]},"item_files":{"attribute_name":"ファイル情報","attribute_type":"file","attribute_value_mlt":[{"accessrole":"open_date","date":[{"dateType":"Available","dateValue":"2018-07-25"}],"displaytype":"detail","filename":"YuiNakatsuma20130315.pdf","filesize":[{"value":"734.2 kB"}],"format":"application/pdf","licensetype":"license_note","mimetype":"application/pdf","url":{"label":"YuiNakatsuma20130315.pdf","url":"https://twcu.repo.nii.ac.jp/record/25141/files/YuiNakatsuma20130315.pdf"},"version_id":"4d6ee105-c173-4442-88bd-9f71b738ece8"}]},"item_keyword":{"attribute_name":"キーワード","attribute_value_mlt":[{"subitem_subject":"oral popular culture","subitem_subject_scheme":"Other"},{"subitem_subject":"orality","subitem_subject_scheme":"Other"},{"subitem_subject":"literacy","subitem_subject_scheme":"Other"},{"subitem_subject":"the act of writing","subitem_subject_scheme":"Other"},{"subitem_subject":"Charles Dickens","subitem_subject_scheme":"Other"}]},"item_language":{"attribute_name":"言語","attribute_value_mlt":[{"subitem_language":"eng"}]},"item_resource_type":{"attribute_name":"資源タイプ","attribute_value_mlt":[{"resourcetype":"departmental bulletin paper","resourceuri":"http://purl.org/coar/resource_type/c_6501"}]},"item_title":"Oral Popular Culture, Orality and Writing in Charles Dickens's Bleak House","item_titles":{"attribute_name":"タイトル","attribute_value_mlt":[{"subitem_title":"Oral Popular Culture, Orality and Writing in Charles Dickens's Bleak House"}]},"item_type_id":"10002","owner":"2","path":["3215"],"pubdate":{"attribute_name":"公開日","attribute_value":"2014-08-26"},"publish_date":"2014-08-26","publish_status":"0","recid":"25141","relation_version_is_last":true,"title":["Oral Popular Culture, Orality and Writing in Charles Dickens's Bleak House"],"weko_creator_id":"2","weko_shared_id":-1},"updated":"2023-05-15T13:02:05.801901+00:00"}
