| 内容記述 | Yamanashi Prefecture has long been known for its fruit trees. It is the largest producer of fruit trees in Japan. The phrase Kai hacchinka symbolizes the fact that many fruits are grown in Kai province, the old name of Yamanashi prefecture. Kai hacchinka means eight kinds of fruit trees representing Kai province. Specifically, there are eight kinds: grapes, pears, peaches, kaki, chestnuts, apples, pomegranates, and ginkgo nuts （or walnuts）． Until now, the origin of Kai hacchinka has not been clarified. Therefore, this paper seeks to elucidate who created the phrase and for what purpose. What this paper reveals is that it was a painter named Yoshida Ryūkei（吉田柳蹊1820–70）who coined the phrase “Kai hacchinka.” He illustrated the fruits in a book titled Kaisōki（甲斐叢記），published in 1851, and titled the illustration Kai hacchinka.This is the origin of the phrase Kai hacchinka. Various popular myths were added in later periods, making the origin of the phrase uncertain. The origins of this phrase have now been discovered. |

| 内容記述 | 山梨県は古くから果樹の特産地として知られ、全国でも有数の生産量を誇っている。果樹王国山梨を表現する語句として古くから「甲斐八珍果」が知られている。これは山梨（甲斐）を代表する八種類の果物を意味し、具体的にはブドウ・ナシ・モモ・カキ・クリ・リンゴ・ザクロ・ギンナン（またはクルミ）から成る。 しかし、語句そのものは有名でありながら、甲斐八珍果の起源については解明されておらず、その詳細は不明であった。そこで本稿では、誰が何の目的でこの語句を生みだしたのか、その解明を目指した。 関連資料を分析した結果、「甲斐八珍果」という語句を生み出したのは吉田柳蹊（1820～70）という画家であることが判明した。彼は嘉永4年（1851）刊『甲斐叢記』という地誌に果物の挿絵を描き、それに「甲斐八珍果」という画題を付した。これが「甲斐八珍果」という語句の発祥である。後に様々な説が付加されたために、その起源が不明となった経緯を明らかにした。 |
