These revisionary texts, which profitably incorporate ideas of postmodern critical theories such as intertextuality and post-colonialism, are seen as attempts to renew the conception of the Victorian era. Accordingly, many arguments are developed along the lines of these viewpoints. 内容記述 | Lloyd Jones's Mister Pip (2007) is set in the Pacific island, Bougainville in Papua New Guinea, where Charles Dickens's Great Expectations (1861) is being read by a white teacher in front of local kids.
