| 内容記述 | This article aims to figure out the involvement of South Korean Christians in the democratizing movement in the Chun Doo Hwan regime, and to evaluate this involvement from the viewpoints of both the democratizing movement and that of Christianity. After Park Chung Hee’s death, Chun Doo Hwan held political power by suppressing the Kwangju Uprising. His regime was more oppressive than that of Park Chung Hee’s. Some Christians continued the democratizing movement during Chun Doo Hwan’s regime. Non-Christian democratizing movements (which were influenced by Marxism) became more active than that of the Chirstians. Their movement aimed at social revolution because the activists recognized the limitations of a movement in the 1970’s that aimed for Liberal Democracy after the failure of the Kwangju Uprising. After that, their movement became radical and developed an anti-American sentiment because the U.S. had agreed with the suppression of the Kwangju Uprising. These changes impacted upon the Christian democratizing movement. While some Christians maintained their Christian identity, others accepted their radical ideology. However, during the June Struggle for Democracy in 1987 every social movement group and ordinary civilians got together to achieve a system of direct vote for the President, which was the point of success of realizing democracy in Korea. In the June Struggle for Democracy, Christians took on important roles as major members of the National Movement Headquarters for Democratic Constitution which led the June Struggle. Some conservative Christians joined the June Struggle, but other conservative Christians who supported Chun Doo Hwan had been against the democratizing movement. |

| 内容記述 | 本稿は、全斗煥政権の時期におけるキリスト教の民主化運動への関わりの実態と、これについての民主化運動の視点からの評価、キリスト教の視点からの評価について明らかにしようとしている。 朴正煕死後、光州事件を経て政権を掌握した全斗煥は、朴正煕政権にすぐるとも劣らない強権的性格の政権であった。この時期もキリスト教会とキリスト者は民主化運動を継続したが、1980年代の民主化運動においてはキリスト者の民主化運動以上にマルクス主義の影響を受けた非キリスト者の変革的運動が台頭した。それは光州事件の敗北を経ることで1970年代の自由民主主義的な民主化運動の限界を認識したためであった。このため1980年代の民主化運動は急進的となり、また光州事件に米国が加担したことが原因となって反米的となった。このことはキリスト者の民主化運動にも影響を与えた。これまでの進歩的キリスト者はキリスト者のアイデンティティの堅持を主張する者と急進的な非キリスト者の運動を受容していく者とに分かれていくことになった。しかし、1987年6月民主抗争では大統領直接選挙制実現を求める運動にあらゆる多様な社会運動団体や多数の一般市民が結集して民主化を成就させることができた。そのときにキリスト者が中核となった民主憲法争取国民会議がこの運動の主導的役割を果たした。6月民主抗争には保守的であったキリスト教会の一部も合流したが、全斗煥時代にも親政権的で民主化運動に敵対する保守的キリスト教会が存続し続けた。 |
